Today were told to form three lines outside of class to form groups of four so we could start our Random Autobiographies. We then read our two poems "We Real Cool" by Gwendolyn Brooks and "Caged Bird" by Maya Angelou aloud together. As a class, we collectively skimmed a Random Autobiograpy by a fourteen year old girl, Emily, who was the author of "Mud." Emily wrote about her challenges and acheivements and how she acknowledged the fact that she had more "mud" to walk through. In our groups of four, we started brainstorming short thoughtful sentences for our own Random Autobiographies.
